The Mothership

Chicago's Aragon Ballroom

Chicago, what a wonderful city. 1855 hosted the first skyscraper in Chicago, 1907 -1908 Host of the Chicago Cubs last World Series win, Home of the 1933 Worlds Fair, Host of the first Baseball All Star game in 1933, 1949 O'Hare International Airport was opened, 1969 John Hancock Building Completed, 1984 Michael Jordon joined the Chicago Bulls and led them to championship after Championship, in 1986 the Chicago Bears won the Superbowl, and in September 2007 The Flaming Lips came to the Aragon Ballroom and did what nobody has ever done in Chicago. They landed a UFO in Dowtown Chicago and brought a message of happiness and love and a celebration of life.

It took a team of engineers to design a ceiling to hold the spaceship and a crew of men working around the clock to build, install, and fly the spaceship into the ceiling from where the band will descend upon an unsuspecting crowd tomorrow evening at Chicago's historic Aragon Ballroom. Truly and event that will not be forgotten.

What better place to host this event then the Aragon Ballroom. The ceiling is a galaxy, the walls transform to a castle in a time long forgotten in a place far, far, away. This place has a magic to it, old world style. The Flaming Lips come armed with a message of hope, determination, throwing caution to the wind, embracing chaos as a friend.

Stay Tuned. . . . . . .
